Using Blackboard Paint

A couple of things on this one. First of all, it seems like every fridge out there is silver stainless steel. Which might even be okay if they didn't all look as boring as hell. Also, they claim to resist fingerprints, but I can fingerprint the hell out of them. We were able to find a black graphite fridge from Home Depot that looks damn good.
But a fight to find a decent black fridge is not what I wanted to bring up. No, it's the use of the blackboard paint here. From what I can tell–there doesn't seem to be much in the way of explanation–those are cabinet doors with pictures of what's behind the doors. Above the fridge is space for lists, although you'd have to be very tall to get at them.
I'm toying with the idea of using some blackboard paint in my new office area. Have you screwed around with blackboard paint? If so, how did it go?
