ThinkGeek: Wi-Fi Detector Shirt

Okay, now. There's geek gear and then there is Geek Gear. A t-shirt with an actual, working, light-up wi-fi detector built into is about as Geek as they come. In fact, this is so Geek it almost feels like one of their April Fools pranks.

My thing is: this goes beyond practical into the "just showing off" category. Because if the lights are on your chest, they're not as easy to see as in, say, a handheld detector. And basically, while wearing this thing, you're wardriving whether you want to or not. Wouldn't that be distracting, to be driving along and all of a sudden your chest lights up? Then goes out, then lights up again? If you're passing a line of coffee shops and fast food joints at speed, it could be like a strobe effect these days.

Or you could put on a cape and make it like you're a superhero.

I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud here…
